Digital Sports League Sees All 2008 Sponsors Return, Adds Several New Brand Partners

NEW YORK, March 18 /PRNewswire/ — Major League Gaming, the professional video game league, today announced an impressive, and expanded, sponsor line up for 2009. The sponsor roster — Dr Pepper, Old Spice, Stride, Ballpark, BIC Comfort 3 Advance, Bungie, Castrol, Gamestop, HP, Ubisoft, and Xbox 360 — are all brands who believe that MLG is a powerful new sports league that can uniquely reach and influence the young male demographic.

“We’re thrilled to see the enthusiastic return and expansion of our league sponsor partners for 2009,” said Matthew Bromberg, president and CEO of MLG. “The economy may be difficult, but when a partnership moves the needle, marketers respond.”

“We strive to choose partners that bring more to Dr Pepper fans,” said Terry Hockens, brand manager of marketing for Dr Pepper. “The 2008 MLG season and our ongoing Dr Pepper promotion featuring MLG on our bottles has been a huge success, and we’re excited to return for the 2009 season.”

“As guys embrace new ways to have fun and fuel their competitive drive, it is important that Old Spice find ways to evolve with them,” said James Moorhead, Old Spice brand manager. “Since our successful 2007 program with MLG, we’ve evolved into breakthrough new programming and an amazing team sponsorship with Instinct. We’re excited to be able to help further expand competitive gaming, creating new opportunities for guys to be successful in something they are so passionate about.”

MLG’s 2009 Pro Circuit Season Opener will be held April 3-5 at the Meadowlands, and fans can come to see their favorite players live and in person the entire weekend. Sponsor activities, amateur free-for-all tournaments, and MLG’s exciting live programming will be happening all weekend long. See more details and buy tickets at www.mlgpro.com.

Seems like everyone else is doing it so I will jump off the bridge with them and try and get spicey support,
We are a group of positive role models that perform cutting edge stunts on motorcycles but also deliver the positive message to not be involved in drugs or violence. Our natural ability to draw the attention of the crowd with our wheelies and burnouts allow us to hit all ages and deliver a very strong message. With over 1 million new motorcycles and scooters sold last year we are part of a ever growing market of consumers that look at the people making the most noise for brand recognition along with reaching far beyond just the riding market with our exposure in other community events. Lets face it our sport is full of some very sweetie people with the vigorous practice sessions, and we are based in hot central florida!!!

At best we have some sweet video’s on our website of us riding!

    Jim,

Sounds good, when is a good time to to try again and what is a better way to contact you/ Old Spice then posting some lame blog, that make me feel like a tool for making our partner packet and I know some companies rather deal via a marketing agency.

We are always growing and getting more opportunities to perform in large area’s which in turn is great for sponsors. We just got our own riding spot in the middle of Daytona across from the nascar speedway and we are building CentralFloridaBikeNight.com which so far has had an amazing turn out.

Also, What did you think of the video’s??

  • Posted by: admin on July 8, 2009 at 2:13pm #

    Kris-
The videos are really cool… pretty amazing stunts and reminds me of our Old Spice Play Clean partnership with Dick Butkus to keep kids from using performance enhancing drugs. If the Old Spice brands is looking for more sponsorships or partnerships in the future we will reach out to you (since we’ve got your contact information). Thanks again and I hope the ExtremShow continues to grow.
